Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta Reactions
Everyone who pre-ordered Vanguard got to take part in the limited time online beta! Reactions ranged from positive to downright brutal, here are some of the best ones.
When the last shots were fired and Vanguard’s Beta weekend finally came to an end, the community’s reactions were extremely mixed. Some players just cancelled their pre-orders outright, but many were already getting into the groove of quick sniping and melee kills. Plenty of people took to Twitter to air their grievances with the game, both brutal and light-hearted.
War never changes
Call of Duty fans are known for their loyalty to the franchise, but that doesn’t stop them being extremely critical of the games (let’s call it tough love). So, the reactions to the beta weekend were exactly what we all should’ve expected.
@OrdinaryGamers made one of the first popular reactions to the beta, who hit it right out of the park with this very brutal and effective remark. But, that’s just scratching the surface of the reactions we saw over the weekend.
Apparently, hackers managed to infiltrate the beta and decided to make innocent players’ days a whole lot worse. This was an incredibly concerning tweet considering Activision’s attempts to crack down on hacking; it doesn’t set the most reassuring tone for Vanguard’s online mode.
Some players on Xbox Series X were reporting some graphical glitches, which made the beta unplayable. Others were quick to point out that this was a similar glitch that has plagued Warzone for a long time, leaving many console gamers worried about the final product.
@wsjudd on Twitter was not happy with his experience, it seems. He posted a photo showing his full refund request of Vanguard, without any further explanation. It seemed that a lot of other players felt the same way, posting images of their refund and denouncing the game entirely.
The fight must go on
On the other side of the Twitter pond, plenty of players enjoyed their experience with the beta, keeping their purchases intact and showing off some slick plays. It certainly helped to change the negative tone and we also got to see some really smooth kills!
Sniping seems to be the most popular form of kills so far, with many like @Spratt showing off their quick sniping and 360 no-scopes (like the good old days)! We want more videos like these when Vanguard finally comes out — so get your practice in before the due date.
@xShaby is already getting some sweet kills and W’s with some incredible sniping. It’s definitely the META weapon in the Vanguard arsenal so far, so keep your head down when you finally enter the trenches.
@MordernWarzone were quick to make the bold claim that Vanguard is by the far the best Call of Duty game since Black Ops 2 (high praise right there). It might only be the beta, but if it’s already making waves like this then we can expect amazing things from the full game.
Big Twitch streamers like @NoisyButters have been enjoying the game immensely, and already have their game mode preferences decided.
What does this mean for Vanguard?
It’s important to note that this is just the beta, not the finished product. The developers have plenty of time to iron out any bugs. Playing a glitchy game can be frustrating, but some of those players might have acted too hastily in asking for refunds. The full game isn’t coming until November!
