FIFA 22 Career mode: best young players with high potential
Since its release, Ultimate Team has been FIFA’s go-to game mode that attracts all of the attention. As a result, interest in career mode has cooled and gone are the days of your mates bragging about the 17 year old they poached from PSV, who fired them to Champions League glory (shout-out FIFA 14 Bakkali). Until now, that is!
We know there are some of you out there who don’t even know the meaning of ‘SBC’, and don’t want to learn either! That doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be great FIFA content for you to enjoy, so Stakester have put together our first ever piece of Career Mode content to cater for all you offline heroes out there! Here is our list of best young players in FIFA 22 career mode!
GK: Maarten Vandevoordt
Price: £4.2 million
When you first begin building your career mode dynasty, it can sometimes be easy to ignore your keeper situation. It’s relatively easy to reach your league goals using your current goalie, but if you want your team to go from strength to strength, it’s important that you strengthen and have a man between the sticks who is going to make those extra, pivotal saves across multiple seasons.
Marteen Vandevoort can do just that given time; he’s already a well-rounded goalkeeper with 74 diving, 71 reactions, 70 handling, and 73 reflexes. Add to that his 6’3” stature and you can understand why he’s an ideal signing for a first season at Championship level.
CB: Leonidas Stergiou
Price: £2.1 million
The saying “defence wins championships” still rings true. Without a commanding centre-half controlling the back line, you’ll find your Champions League pushes and title defences will fall flat on their faces. So, it’s imperative that you lay the foundations for a solid defence early on in your career journey.
At 67 overall, Sterigou probably doesn’t have the quality to fit straight into your starting XI, unless you are starting at the very bottom of the football ladder. But, that doesn’t mean he can’t improve quickly when given a loan spell or a run in the team for cup games. With the correct nurturing, the Swiss defender will develop over the long term to become one of the best in-game!
CM: Aster Vranckx
Price: £2.2 million
We’ve chosen Vranckx to run our midfield. There are higher potential players to choose from out there, but we love the physicality that this young midfielder brings to the pitch! Standing at 6”, he brings great strength, speed and agility at 73, 72 and 71 respectively – considering he’s only 18, these stats will improve massively.
Just like Sterigou, he probably lacks the ability to fit straight into your first team plans, but with the right development plan he’ll be the first name on the team sheet before long – and he definitely has the quality to be a future leader!
ST: Musa Juwara
Price: £2.3 million
This list isn’t about the Erling Haalands or Kylian Mbappes, so in strike we have another 67 rated youngster! The silky smooth team you build means nothing if you don’t have an out and out striker to finish every chance that comes his way – that’s why we recommend you get Juwara in your team ASAP!
He’s not ready to lead the line in the Premier League just yet, but we’ve always found it easier to fit lower rated strikers into your team from the second tier level and below! Pace is still the most critical component in FIFA 22 attacking, and Juwara has bags of it; you’ll be able to get him in goalscoring situations constantly, and even if he doesn’t score every time, his overall will improve rapidly.
A dynasty is born
These four players will be able to form the spine of a truly great team. Once a few seasons have elapsed, you’ll have some of FIFA’s top talent across every area of the pitch. From there, you’ll be able to expand and strengthen around this core!
Top tip: set up your scouting network early on, you’ll find the occasional high potential gem that will be able to fit in nicely around the quality players listed above. You’ll have a high performing development program just like Ajax in no time!
