FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS predictions: 96 Neymar, 97 Mbappe

The Stakester community has voted! Here’s who you think should make the Ligue 1 TOTS, with some very familiar names up front. 97 Messi coming on Friday’s release date.

There are those who say that Ligue 1 is a farmers league’ but that does not apply to FIFA! Held up by PSG, the Ligue 1 TOTS features some incredible cards. The TOTS campaign continues, with your FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS predictions.

GK – Lafont

There’s no surprise here! Lafont’s TOTW cards have been unreal – his 82 and 84 overall cards have over 11 million games combined.

Lafont’s French links make him super easy to link out to other leagues and you have the perfect package for a Team of the Season keeper.

RB – Clauss

In 37 games, Clauss has scored 5 and put 11 more on a plate for his team mates. Those 16 goal contributions mean that he’s been involved in over a quarter of Lens’ goals – top class!

So far, Clauss hasn’t had a top class item on FIFA 22. His Headliners was ok, but a TOTS card will definitely remedy that, and will make him first choice for a Ligue 1 or hybrid team.

CB – Saliba

Saliba has been nothing short of a rock at the back for Marseille, helping his team to 13 clean sheets. Although those clean sheets weren’t enough to challenge PSG for the title, Saliba still helped Marseille to a second place finish.

To really play into the META, Saliba could do with a pace upgrade from his Future Stars’ item (83). But, his defending and physicality really can’t be faulted, especially for a young defender. Expect him to add a refreshing bit of talent to your back line.

CB – Marquinhos

Marquinhos captained the league winners to 13 clean sheets, and bagged 5 goals of his own in 32 appearances. He’s going down as a FIFA legend, as he continues to earn special card after special card this year.

Marquinhos has the pace, passing and dribbling ability to bring the ball out, and he’s a rock in defence. But will he be top tier – or will it be another Ruben Dias TOTY downgrade situation? We’ll have to wait and see.

LB – Mendes

With just one assist in 27 games for Mendes, it’s evident that you guys are just hyped about the idea of a TOTS card for this guy! However, whether EA Sports see fit to give him a card for his 10 clean sheets is a different story.

Mendes’ FUT Birthday card offered pace, passing and dribbling, with top tier defending. Ligue 1 is in desperate need of an endgame LB, so we reckon he’s a shoo-in the TOTS squad.

CDM – Fofana

Fofana played 98% of the possible minutes this season! In 38 games, he scored 8 goals and assisted another, not a bad return for a defensive midfielder.

A TOTS card for Fofana would be great, he will be very well-rounded, and will shore up the defence as well as bolstering your attack. Price wise, he will be middle of the ground, but that will mostly be due to him being difficult to link to outside of Ligue 1.

CM – Paqueta

In 35 games, Lucas Paqueta has managed to score 9 goals, as well as assisting 6 more. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to help Lyon into a Champions League place, but it’s enough for him to get the recognition of a TOTS card from  EA – I’m sure he’s delighted…

His FUT Birthday card clocked over 4 million games, but we expect his TOTS card to be even more popular. He’s so well rounded, with equally good attacking and defensive stats, that he can slot into any team.

CM – Tchouameni

In centre-mid, you’ve voted one of Ligue 1’s most promising players, Aurelian Tchouameni. He’s been holding down the midfield in almost every game for AS Monaco this season, and in 35 appearances, he’s helped his back line to 10 clean sheets.

This French lad’s Future Star’s card was really fun to use, but we expect a Team of the Season card to be a nightmare to face in midfield. His shooting won’t be out of this world, but the defensive solidity as well as his passing and dribbling, will add a touch of class.

RW – Lionel Messi

An ageing Messi hasn’t been up to his usual standards this season – he’s had his worst goal tally since 2006 – just 6 in the league. Oof. With that said, he’s still brought some real quality to PSG’s attack, and what he lacked in goals, he made up for with his 14 assists!

Either way, his TOTS card will be almost maxed out – probably with a 98 overall rating. He won’t be as quick as he has been in past games, but those finesse shots and dribbling stats will be lethal.

LW – Neymar

Neymar might be the most frustrating footballer on the planet. Despite being way better than the French league, he’s scored 13 and assisted 6 in 22 games. Not exactly earth-shattering.

But that won’t stop him being impossible to tackle on FIFA! Out wide, he brings pace, flair and unstoppable skill moves to any attack. His TOTS card will be one of the best!

ST – Mbappe

But now it’s time for the actual best. Now the king of Paris, in 35 games this season Mbappe has scored 28 goals and assisted 19! We’ll let you decide whether you think that’s really worth a million per week and a 100 million signing fee… it takes a lot to make you feel sorry for Real Madrid!

Mbappe’s cards are absolutely glitched in FIFA 22. Whether it’s his pace, finishing, passing or dribbling – there’s nothing he can’t do. Spare a thought for Ben Yedder, the former king of the rats. There’s a new king in town.

Best of the rest:

Terrier – 93 – one of the lower tier options, that French flag is going to bait us all opening packs.

Payet – 92 – super fun CAM, but we expect him to be heavily packed so he won’t be worth much.

Guendouzi – 91 – maybe the stealthy cheap beast in the team! His Winter Wildcards item was mad, let’s hope for more of the same.
