FIFA 22 TOTW 14 Prediction: Martinelli, Cancelo & Upamecano
If you have a OTW Upamecano, you’re in luck again! Also, Arsenal fans may finally get a usable IF Martinelli.
It’s that time of week again! After a pretty underwhelming TOTW 13, it looks like we’ve got some solid cards in prospect this week. Joao Cancelo’s second IF, another upgrade for OTW Upamecano and finally, an exciting TOTW card for the Arsenal fans. It’s obviously going to be overshadowed by FIFA 22 Winter Wildcards Team Two, but Here’s our FIFA 22 TOTW 14 prediction:
Featured TOTW: Gabriel Martinelli
Arsenal’s Brazilian baller has been threatening to come good for a while now, after bursting onto the scene a couple of seasons ago. He stood out in a brilliant Arsenal attacking display on Friday, when they battered a hapless Leeds 4-1. Martinelli scored two, with Smith-Rowe and Saka bagging the other goals.
The Brazilian is made for FIFA: he’s quick, skilful, 6 foot and has that lean body type. 3* skills and WF is far from ideal, but good pace, dribbling and shooting stats will make him very usable if you’re not exclusively about the meta. It’s great to see lower end cards get decent upgrades like this, but you can’t help but with that EA Sports would go a bit further.
Surely, the Juventus man has to be due his first TOTW item this week. The Colombian scored a goal and a clean sheet in the 2-0 away win over Bologna, highlighting his continuing value to a rebuilding Juventus side.
Cuadrado is a FIFA beast: he’s quick, strong and can handle even the paciest wingers. With the state of the market, this TOTW item is likely to be very affordable and give your team some extra special-card sheen. He’ll be rampaging up and down that right wing for you in no time.
The OTW promo has been brilliant this year, and Upamecano’s OTW card is one of the most popular, with 5 million games played. He’s got amazing French and Bundesliga links and he’s physically dominant in the defensive line. The only downside is that passing stat, but as long as you’re careful on the ball he really is top tier.
With the potential for more upgrades throughout the season, the OTW is a good investment at 250,000 – but the IF will be affordable and would make a great addition to any French or Bundesliga squad.
Making his second appearance in Team of the Week, Joao Cancelo is back at RB. He scored an absolute screamer in City’s 4-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend – and he continues to cement his status as one of the top players in the league.
His TOTGS item is a better card, but priced at 180k so it will be out of reach for a lot of players. We can expect an initial surge on a new TOTW item, but it’s unlikely to be too expensive once the hype has died down. If you want a creative Premiership RB, there is none better.
The best of the rest
With so many games cancelled due to Covid, candidates for TOTW are a bit thin on the ground. But, there are some familiar names for Premier League fans, with stars from Serie A and La Liga who make the FIFA 22 TOTW 14 Prediction.
- Denzel Dumfries – Inter – 85
- Lucas Ocampos – Sevilla – 84
- Gerard Deulofeo – Udinese – 82
- Tammy Abraham – Roma – 81
OTW Dumfries owners will be happy to see this, but his lack of pace still makes him unusable at a high level. Ocampos has enjoyed a few OP special cards in the past, but this week’s is unlikely to be at that level – however, any of these cards would be really enjoyable additions to your Icon Swaps grind.
