FIFA 22 TOTW 17 Prediction: Theo Hernandez, Headliners Nkunku
Upgrades for a couple of Headliners players: including Luis Diaz, but nothing for Headliners Vinicius Jr.
We’re back again with our TOTW 17 prediction! After a largely disappointing TOTW 16 (no, we didn’t pack Kante either) the Premier League has taken a back seat, with most teams playing in the FA Cup – so you can expect more European names in the team. If you’ve been avoiding the prem tax, this could be the team for you! Here’s our FIFA 22 TITW 17 prediction:
Our first prediction goes to the red hot Theo Hernandez: the Frenchman stepped up to captain AC Milan at the weekend and he did not disappoint! The left back scored twice and helped his team keep a clean sheet on the road against a struggling Venezia side, capping a strong performance!
With his already blistering pace, a defensive upgrade and the shooting boost that comes with bagging 2 goals, this is a seriously meta item. Theo is cracked on FIFA 22, and this card is a win for everyone. First IF owners get a new upgrade, and gold owners will see his first IF go down in price. New LBs for everyone!
Up next is Sofascore’s real life Bundesliga Player of the Week Christopher Nkunku. Despite only coming on at the halftime mark for RB Leipzig, the attacking midfielder still managed to dink a lovely goal over the keeper and make 2 assists in his short appearance!
Nkunku has more special cards than anyone in Ultimate Team – and we can expect more: every time he gets in TOTW, his Headliner receives a +1. At 90, he becomes a seriously desirable card, with great pace, dribbling, shooting and passing stats. Massive.
This weekend Porto faced Estoril Praia as they looked to keep ahead of Sporting Lisbon in the league table. They went 2-0 down in the first half, but Luis Diaz shone in a brilliant comeback. The wideman from Colombia bagged a goal and an assist, helping his team secure the win in the 89th minute!
You can expect Diaz’s card to increase to an 85 overall, meaning he’ll be a great addition to any Portuguese league hybrid team. Top tier pace and dribbling make him a solid option on the wing, and with a shooting boost he could do some damage.
The match between Lens and Rennes looked as if it was going to finish in a stalemate until Clauss whipped in a superb ball to the front post that was calmly finished by Wesley Saïd. That means that Clauss carried on his great run of form, taking his goal and assist tally for the season to 10.
Clauss could be one of the best value items in the Headliners promo: at a cost of just 78k, this SBC allows you to cheaply pick up a player that is clearly on EA’s TOTW radar. Lens aren’t going to win every week, but he’s a great option for an untradeable, upgradeable item you can keep in your club for a while. Plus, he’s got those Ligue 1 links – well worth the coins.
This man sent social media into meltdown after his dazzling, dancing first goal against Valencia. He went on to add a much less glamorous second, nodding in from 6 inches in a 4-1 demolition that further strengthened Real’s title charge..
Although Vini definitely deserves a place in the Team of the Week, we think it’s unlikely – it all comes down to his Headliners card. SO bear with us, because it gets a little tricky:
In order for him to receive a TOTW upgrade, EA Sports would first need to upgrade his Headliners card and have that new and improved card available in packs. Then, when his headliner is taken out of packs on Friday, his TOTW would need to be added into the game.
Given the recent catalogue of pack errors, we think EA will probably avoid over-complicating things and keep him out of the TOTW.
Best of the rest
