FIFA 22 TOTW 19 prediction: 92 Van Dijk & OTW Malen

Our FIFA 22 Team of the Week predictions have been pretty accurate so far (if we say so ourselves), but can we keep the win streak going?

There were some impressive displays over the weekend by some of the top talent in Europe, which means we’re in for an exciting week of in-forms – even if they are slightly eclipsed by the Team of the Year cards. Here’s our FIFA 22 TOTW 19 Prediction:

Nicolò Barella

First up is the 24 year old attacking midfielder from Inter Milan. In their home game, the Nerrazurri found themselves 1-0 down in the first half against Venezia, before Barella fired them back to level terms

An in-form would see Barella receive an 88 overall, however, the most exciting upgrade would be his Headliners card being bumped up to 89! This card has all the making of a well-rounded box to box midfielder – just like the man himself in real life. You might need to use a chem style to improve his shooting, but with such great dribbling he could easily dance through defences and fire in from close.

Virgil Van Dijk

As soon as VVD headed Liverpool into the lead within the first 10 minutes, FIFA players were already thinking about the possibilities for FIFA 22 Team of the Week 19. Although he didn’t manage to help his team keep a clean sheet, we think EA has no choice but to give the world’s best smelling defender an upgrade.

FUT players will be scrambling to get their hands on this card – and with Flashback Varane just around the corner, they could make a formidable Premier League duo!

Donyell Malen

Malen didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet himself in Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Hoffenheim, however, he did manage to provide two assists for his team! It was a far-from convincing win for Dortmund, but Malen stood out and the dutchman really showed his class.

Malen’s One to Watch card will be receiving a +2 boost, which will see him sit at a very strong 85 overall. With 94 pace, he’s bound to be a handful for any defence, and his shooting is more than good enough to fire you to Division Rivals glory in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team!

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has had his fair share of doubters in recent years, but he silenced them when he scored a 90+3 winner for Manchester United at the weekend! Well, that was until they all started debating whether or not he was offside.

Clinching 3 points from the jaws of defeat will likely see Rashford receive his first in-form in FIFA 22. Although it won’t be a world beater, his LM card will still be a solid 86 overall, making him a very good addition to any Ultimate Team Prem squad. He had so many in FIFA 21, it’s good to see him pick up his first IF of the year!

Joshua Kimmich

Bayern managed a comprehensive 4-1 win over Hertha Berlin at the weekend, during which Kimmich helped his team out with two assists. Kimmich had been out of the squad following a Covid scare, and then played out of position in RB upon his return to the squad – but it’s safe to say that he showed why he’s one of the best midfielders in the game on his return to central midfield this weekend!

This card is top, and although he’s lacking in pace and finishing ability, he’s well-rounded enough to battle in the middle of the park and protect your back line nicely. Plus, nobody keeps the ball like Joshua.

Best of the rest:

Here’s the top performers who just can’t seem to convince the folks at EA Sports that they’re on the meta.

  • Thiago Silva – Chelsea – 87 – a cool item, but still criminally slow.
  • Sergio Ramos –
  • Steven Bergwijn – Tottenham Hotspur – 85 – could be rewarded for his injury time exploits with a Featured TOTW item.
  • Hakim Ziyech – Chelsea – scored a brilliant goal against Spurs, but his Moments SBC is better.

TOTW 19 has a 26th January Release date, so watch out for these cards along with TOTY.
