FIFA 22 TOTW 20 Prediction: 91 Mane and 90 Casemeiro on way
Domestic football once again took a back seat last weekend – that means that the FIFA 22 TOTW 20 is going to be based on the international action going on around the world! There were some pretty exciting performances by a number of top players, so this week’s FIFA Ultimate Team promotion could be a good one.
Featured Item: Karl Toko Ekambi
First, we have an upgrade from the AFCON: in Cameroon’s 2-0 win over The Gambia, the French-born striker netted both goals, including an inch-perfect header. Thanks to a top performance from the Lyon man, his country will face Egypt in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations on Thursday.
With a modest 82 overall rating, Ekambi most likely won’t get into many teams. However, with pace in the low 90s and shooting comfortably in the 80s, this card could make a great super sub in the lower divisions. Plus, an untradeable version is always going to be fun for any Ligue 1 objectives.
Senegal ignored pleas from Liverpool to rest Mane in the AFCON quarter-finals after the head injury he received in the round of 16. The risk paid off as Mane captained his country to a 3-1 victory over Equatorial Guinea. Senegal are now heading to the semi-finals against Burkina Faso on Wednesday.
Any potential in-form for Mane would be a 91 overall, meaning the Liverpool winger could easily slot into any Prem squad in FUT 22. With incredible pace and great passing/shooting stats, this card could be a real powerhouse for your squad. Do not sleep on his finishing – he’s one of the most clinical players in the game (thank you NealGuides for that one!)
Brazil were in action against Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier, but only managed a 1-1 draw. Real Madrid’s midfielder was a feature throughout the whole 90 minutes and put Brazil in fronto after 6 minutes from range.
With an in-form upgrade, Casemiro will join the 90 Club, just like his Rulebreakers card. But without a considerable improvement in pace, he’ll likely go down as just another high profile, high rated fodder card.
Ángel Di Maria
Elsewhere in South America, Di Maria’s Argentina took on Chile. Di Maria opened the scoring with a lovely curled effort from outside of the box, before Ben Brereton Diaz equalised in the 20th minute (who knew slapping Diaz on the end of your name could make you a certified baller?!)
The PSG wideman will receive an 88 in-form – he won’t be the nippiest of wingers, but he’s got more than enough dribbling ability to make up for that. If you can link him and move him to CAM in-game, he could be lethal.
Best of the rest:
- Luis Suarez – Atletico Madrid – 90 OVR – high rated fodder, unless you’re a die-hard Suarez fan (and we don’t think there are that many of those)
- Salomon Rondon – Everton – 81 OVR – the big man finally makes an appearance in TOTW. Contender for most baffling signing of all time
- Antonee Robinson – Fulham – 79 OVR – Championship players are always welcome in TOTW
And that sums up our Team of the Week 20 prediction! Do you think we nailed it?
