FIFA 22 TOTW 28 Prediction: 93 Neymar, 88 Jordi Alba
Neymar helped Brazil beat Chile 4-0 while Jordi Alba shone for Spain in their last-minute win against Albania.
We once again find ourselves in the (let’s be honest, miserable) situation of an international break. While we haven’t been able to watch our beloved domestic clubs in action, we’ve been treated to great performances around the world. Thanks to the goals and assists from the international stage this week, it looks like we could still see a top Team of the Week lineup. So, here’s our FIFA 22 TOTW 28 prediction.
The Brazilian attacker opened the scoring for his nation against Chile in the 44th minute. He was brought down in the opposition’s box and was rewarded with a penalty, which he coolly tucked away into the bottom left corner.
Neymar’s 93 in-form card will be a beast – his 93 pace and 96 dribbling will be nearly impossible to handle when he’s sprinting at defenders, and the 87 shooting and 88 passing mean that he’s good enough to finish chances and create them. Neymar’s low physical stats do have the potential to hold the card back in some aspects, but it’s Neymar: he will be META.
In what was an unexpectedly tough game against Albania, Jordi Alba was pivotal. The tie was deadlocked until the 90th minute when Alba poked a pass through the Albanian defence to Dani Olmo, who curled a beauty into the top corner.
A TOTW special card for Jordi Alba would be his second of FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, therefore it’d be an 88 overall. On the whole, this Alba card would be a very attractive attacking fullback option, with great pace, decent passing and good dribbling skills. But, with below par defending and physical stats for a defender, there are better options in the game right now.
The international break might divide opinion among fans and players, but we’re certain that Gareth Bale sleeps in his full kit, boots and all, ahead of a Wales game. The Welsh talisman once again proved the infamous “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.” saying to be 100% true as he scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Austria.
Bale is not quite the calibre of player he once was in FIFA, so his in-form will only be 84 overall. But with that said, he’ll still boast some decent stats; 85 pace, 84 shooting, 84 passing and 82 dribbling ensure he’ll be capable in every aspect of attack. He might not make your starting XI, but he’d be a handy sub.
Just when France had almost given up hope of securing a win against the Ivory Coast, Tchouaméni came through in the 93rd minute with an unsavable header. It was a 2-1 victory in a friendly, but the French fans still roared like they’d all been given free baguettes.
Tchouaméni is no stranger to TOTW cards; this would be the third upgrade he has received and it’d be a very solid card too! At 86 overall with x defending, x physical and even x dribbling, he’d be a CDM with a bit of attacking flair thrown in the mix too!
Díaz was crucial in Colombia’s win over Bolivia at the weekend, scoring the opener of the game and setting up the second goal. The 3-0 win ensured that Colombia will march on in their World Cup Qualifying campaign, and they now compete with Peru for the final spot at Qatar 2022.
Díaz’s in-form will be a solid 85, but the real excitement would come from his Headliners becoming 89 overall. With pace, shooting and dribbling all being around the 90 mark, he’ll become pure dynamite!
Best of the rest
Martin Ødegaard – scored in 2-0 win over Slovakia
Otávio – scored and assisted in 3-1 win over Turkey
Rodrigo De Paul – Assisted twice in Argentina’s win
