FIFA 22 TOTY Warmup Series: new SBC & objective players

With some exciting packs added to the code, this warm up promo offers new untradeable items. Our advice; enjoy it, but keep your eyes on the prize and don’t forget about Team of the Year.

Surprise, Team of the Year Warmup Series is here! This Ultimate Team promo looks likely to feature new objective players and SBC items. Plus, we’ve seen some interesting new packs that have been added to the code. Here’s everything you need to know for the FIFA 22 TOTY Warmup Series:

EA Sports are well into the buildup for TOTY, and this promo looks designed to drain the market of coins and fodder so we all buy packs when the full promo drops. With that in mind, look for the high value packs and save them for the full promo.

Warmup Series

A Series is a typically shorter promo that doesn’t necessarily include a release of special cards in packs. There are fewer Series throughout the year and they usually come right before a bigger promo: the last one came before Black Friday and this is coming in the buildup for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team TOTY.

Earlier this season, we saw Squad Foundations players from the Eredivisie, the EFL Championship and Liga Portugal. With fun objectives to grind, and some great players on offer (looking at you Uribe and MacIntosh) – this was a well received promo with real value for players, so let’s hope for the same again!

Pre-TOTY Packs

We’ve got some new packs in the code for Warmup Series, but the release date for all of this content is unknown so far. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 83 + attackers 3 players pack
  • 83 + midfielders 3 players pack
  • 83 + defenders 3 players pack
  • 81 + attackers 3 players pack
  • 81 + midfielders 3 players pack
  • 81 + defenders 3 players pack

Obviously, we’ll have to wait until people start opening these to see if they’re juiced, but immediately the 83+ packs look interesting. The plan from EA Sports is clearly to get us to grind for these packs ahead of TOTY – so the value is going to depend on how much you put in. We’ll have to wait and see!

Flashback Incoming!

We usually get a juiced Flashback card around TOTY, and this year is no exception! These stats are predictions, but are definitely in the ballpark: all we know is that he looks class. With great Ligue 1 links, he can slot right in next to a Messi or an Mbappé and help them tear up defences.

Last season we got Franck Ribery and he was absolutely cracked! Icardi fits the meta a bit better this season, with his link potential and solid WF, so this should be an even better item. The only question is: is it worth sinking coins and fodder right before TOTY?

New Foundations

It doesn’t get much more desirable than a French Premiership item – especially if they’re in the 80+ pace CB club. With great links and some very decent predicted stats, he’s a great addition for a free card. You’ll probably only have to grind for an hour or two to get him, so he represents great value.

The leakers and traders are way ahead of this one: Eduoard Mendy’s price rose from 80k to 110k as the news broke on Twitter (and a private trading group or two!) and people scrambled to invest in green link options. Our advice is to stay away from trading around this card if you haven’t already: you’re already too late to the party.

Vote for TOTY

Don’t forget to confirm your vote online – there’s still time to vote for your 2021 Team of the Year. It’s all about the best players from the last calendar year, with big names up and down the field. With defenders Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo of Manchester City joining the likes of Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich, it’s tough to make a choice.

N’Golo Kante, Bruno Fernandes, Foden and KDB are all fighting for a midfield place. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland will all battle for positions in the final team. Either way, this year’s TOTY promises juiced cards, controversy and some straight up killers.

Enjoy the TOTY Warmup Series, and remember to keep some of those coins dry!
