FIFA 22 Leaks
EA job advert says they're hiring Online Software Engineers to work on a FIFA "online career mode"— FIFA 22 News (@UltimateTeamUK) June 3, 2021
New feature in FIFA 22? 👀 pic.twitter.com/1fgUXaI63Z
EA Sports might have accidentally given us a pretty huge tip before the release of FIFA 22, by revealing some exciting developments in a boring old job posting. In the post for an Online Software Engineer in Vancouver, EA wrote “you will help build our networked play development team — whether that be in our online career mode, ultimate team, or core online systems and protocols”.
ONLINE CAREER MODE! Imagine the scenes! After years of offline grinding, Career Mode could finally be rocketed into the 21st century. You’d be able to compete in leagues with your friends – maybe you could even co-manage a club with a mate. The opportunities seem endless, we just hope that it’s true, and that EA have some great ideas up their sleeve.
Be a Ref?
Imagine being the ref when two of your mates are playing 🤣😭— MufcBen 🔴 (@mufcben9) March 26, 2021
In extraordinarily unexciting news, some FIFA fans are actually calling for a “Be a Referee” mode on FIFA 22. We have to say, we’re with Peter Crouch on this one – we just don’t get it. But, don’t let us stop you, if you want to officiate a 38 game season between AI powered imaginary footballers then fill your boots!
On the other hand, a referee mode on FIFA 22 could be a fun addition and might even help you empathise with the Prem refs that come under fire every week!
Taxi for Trent
BREAKING: Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of #EURO2020 after sustaining a thigh injury in England's win over Austria on Wednesday.— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) June 3, 2021
The country let out a collective groan on Wednesday night when Trent Alexander-Arnold limped off the field with a thigh injury in England’s 1-0 win over Austria. It’s a sad end to the in-out-in-out team selection debate that had been raging on in recent weeks. The team doctor said it’s going to take 6 weeks for him to recover, meaning he will miss EURO 2021.
However, some England fans have pointed out that this may be a good thing for Gareth Southgate and Englands’s Euros chances, as Reece James now looks like the favourite to step in for the Three Lions’ – and he wasn’t bad in the Champions League final, was he?
And let’s not forget, Trent’s rehab is probably going to include a 4 week trip (read: holiday) to Liverpool’s warm weather training camp in Marbella, so there’s a silver lining for the scouser!
Teams at the Euros this summer, arranged by FIFA rankings 🌍 pic.twitter.com/RFK7IXXwYJ— B/R Football (@brfootball) June 3, 2021
B/R Football has put together a list of all of Euro 2021’s teams in order of their FIFA ranking. Belgium and France take the first 2 spots, but perhaps more surprisingly, England’s young lions take 4th spot. Let’s hope they make good on all that potential!
On the other end of the spectrum, Germany doesn’t even make the top 10 and 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia are all the way down in 14th… we’ve got our eyes on the Portuguese in 5th though.
Roberto Carlos Day
A simple one to round off the list! It’s been 24 years since Roberto Carlos invented swaz tekkers, that’s right F2, Roberto did it first.
