The FIFA 22 META has already been revealed!
We’re just under two months away from the FIFA 22 release date, but it already looks like the META for the game has revealed itself… in the form of French super club PSG. In an almost unbelievable turn of events, Lionel Messi announced that he’ll be leaving Barca – and the Parisian club wasted no time in snapping up the GOAT’s signature.
PSG’s transfer window so far
PSG’s business so far in this transfer window has been the stuff of dreams – getting Liverpool’s Wijnaldum, Real Madrid’s Ramos and Donnarumma on free transfers is a deal that even Jeff Bezos would be proud of.
Not only that, but they’ve also added Hakimi and Pereira to their ranks for a combined fee of £68.4 million. For a team that was already formidable enough, these signings will surely make PSG an unstoppable force in the upcoming FIFA game – the strength and speed of Ramos and Hakimi will shore up the defence, and the workhorse that is Gini Wijnaldum will be a pleasure for any FIFA player to control.
The main event
History was made on the 10th of August as La Pulga was unveiled at the Stade de France. What made the event even more amazing was that one of the world’s most valuable players had swapped clubs without even a penny changing hands – you can thank Barca’s poor money management (read, probable criminality) for that one, but hey, at least they have Braithwaite carrying the team now!
Even though PSG managed to snag Messi free of charge, they’re still going to be coughing up for a hefty wage bill; it’s expected Leo will earn €35 million per season. Now we aren’t going to bore you and tell you what that wage could buy him, but at €2.41 per second, that’s a lot of Freddos…
The current META
In FIFA 21, there are a number of ways you can secure the W. Fullbacks in the middle and passes in behind are a surefire way to come out on top – but so far, there hasn’t been one stand-out team that can guarantee you a victory in a head-to-head game. Even FIFA 21’s PSG, with Neymar and Mbappe, could still be in for a tough fight against another 5-star rated team. But we think that’s about to change.
Enter FIFA 22’s superteam
A starting lineup that includes THAT front three as well as Donnarumma, Kimpembe, Ramos and Wijnaldum will cause problems for even the best FIFA players. You’ll be able to run riot up front and relax in the knowledge that your defence and keeper can deal with virtually anything thrown at them. We imagine there are going to be plenty of PSG vs PSG matches played on Stakester!
The story will no doubt be the same in the real life game too; with PSG’s newfound depth in quality, they look as if Champions League success is now a certainty. In all honesty, anything less than an undefeated season across all competitions will probably be a let down – no pressure, Poch.
Predicted: FIFA 22’s top 3 teams
- No prizes for guessing this one – Paris Saint Germain run away with the title of best team in FIFA 22 without a ball being kicked in the virtual game. A front three of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe is too impressive to ignore, add to that their already world class transfer window and they’re worthy of the top spot.
- Chelsea – the blue side of London was already on the up last season, but with the addition of the powerhouse that is Lukaku, they are sure to be a super strong side in the upcoming game.
- Barcelona – a surprise addition considering they’ve just lost Messi, but Barca have consistently been one of the top teams in FIFA for years, and we don’t see that changing. The unbelievable shift that Pedri has put in this past year will surely see his rating skyrocket to help steady the ship in FIFA 22. And oh, let’s not forget about a certain Sergio Aguero!
