TOTW 9 prediction: IF Mbappe, Kane and Lewandowski
Most of us won’t get near them, but what will happen when the best front three in TOTW history drops in FUT 22 later today?
Amazing TOTW cards are probably the only good thing about the international break. Mismatches make for great individual performances, which make for exciting cards in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. But, with the best will in the world, most players won’t get their hands on Mbappe, or Lewy – or even slowest top ST of all time Harry Kane (FIFA do him so dirty every year).
So what does it mean for most regular players? We can see some panic selling as people desperately want to raise the coins to buy one of these guys, so we think you should expect a market wobble tonight. Immediately after the promo will probably be a good time to buy and sell players if you pick your targets right.
Let’s take a look at why we’ve got such a stacked team of the week in prospect tonight:
Les bleus took on Kazakhstan this week at the Parc des Princes and dished out a classic world cup qualifier hammering. It was so bad that we’re going to start a petition to give the Kazakh back four free in-form Kylian Mbappes to make up for it. It took him less than half an hour to score his hat trick – and he added to that with an amazing strike and an assist last night.
When you look at his gold card, you wonder where the upgrades are going to come from. His 88 composure and 83 balance stats looks a good bet, but with 90+ in almost every important category, any slight boost is going to make him even more unplayable. Plus we’ll get a sexy dynamic image for the Paris Saint Germain man.
Yes, they only beat Andorra, but Lewandowski looked every inch the global superstar he is. Possibly world football’s most underrated superstar, he quietly goes about his business and bangs in goals. But he’s more than a goalscorer, his general play and ability to create space for other players is what makes him such a talisman for Bayern and the Polish national team.
For Lewy, a pace upgrade would be the stuff of dreams, but we don’t see that happening. As he’s such a high level player, a few buffs to the right stats could be really noticeable in-game: he scored with his left against Andorra, so we’d like to see a 5 star WF upgrade.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane scored two hat tricks during the international break, including an amazing bicycle kick against Albania. He’s taken a lot of criticism this season, but who wouldn’t be out of sorts after being forced to stay at Tottenham when you could’ve joined Manchester City? #FreeHarry!
Kane doesn’t really translate to FIFA, as his lack of pace renders him unusable against quick CBs. But, his in-form is sure to be stacked on basically everything else. It’s a shame, a TOTW Kane should be a really exciting prospect, but it looks like he’s doomed to a fodder existence – the only thing he’ll be scoring is a place in a high value SBC.
He didn’t make the top 3, but Leroy Sane had a great week for Germany and will surely get a TOTW card later today. It’s not as exciting as it could be though, it’s unlikely to be better than his RTTK card, but might represent a cheaper upgrade option from his gold.
