With season 3 coming to an end on the 15th of June, it looks like the release date for the fourth season of Call of Duty: Warzone will be the 16th or 17th of this month. That gives us a little over ten days to speculate wildly about the theme and even location of the next instalment. Plus, we’re gonna give you the lowdown on the leaks and rumours that are already circulating so you know everything before the update lands!
Activision, Play Africa by Toto
You heard it right, Africa. There are a lot of whispers that the Season 4 theme is going to be Africa. The reason for this is the not so cryptic video that has been released by the developers, check it out:
In the video you can clearly hear “our man in Africa is standing by”, Stitch then agrees that the call should be made, so is this a greenlight for us all to head to Africa? Obviously, Africa is a huge continent so an African theme doesn’t tell us much . But, Warzone season 2 already brought us to the jungle so we think it’s unlikely that we’ll be heading to the Congo. Instead, our destination is likely to be a lot hotter and a lot drier…
One Twitter user has claimed that all of the signs so far point to Warzone Season 4 being desert themed.
This would make sense in terms of the Africa angle, seeing as its Sahara Desert covers 9.2 million square kilometres of its land. That means we could see themes based on any of the 11 countries that the desert covers – including Egypt! It’s unlikely that we’ll see a brand new map given how new Verdansk ‘84 is, however, if the developers were to give us a totally new experience then we think a Saharan theme could be amazing! Either way, we’re sure to see some great operators and weapons in the new battle pass.
