Baba Casino Reopens In Six States

Amid controversy in the sweepstakes casinos industry, Baba Casino has re-opened their access to six states, lowering their list of excluded casinos from 23 to 17.

Amid controversy in the sweepstakes casinos industry, Baba Casino has re-opened their access to six states, lowering their list of excluded casinos from 23 to 17.

As California prepares to block sweepstakes-style online casinos, one major brand is shifting its strategy by reopening in these different states.

Six States Reopened, But Baba Casino Remains Cautious

This week, Baba Casino announced that players in Ohio, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas can once again access its platform. That adjustment reduces its “restricted states” total from 23 down to 17.

Even with the adjustment, Baba Casino still keeps a relatively long no-play list compared to many rivals. The operator, which sets its age requirement at 21 rather than 18 like most sweepstakes casinos, continues to take a more conservative approach despite the expansion.

Currently, Baba Casino remains unavailable in Idaho, Michigan, Nevada, Washington, Nebraska, Hawaii, Mississippi, New York, North Dakota, Vermont, Connecticut, Montana, Delaware, West Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana, and New Jersey.

Cutting Restrictions as California Prepares Sweeps Ban

Baba Casino’s choice to reopen in six states comes at a time of big changes for the sweepstakes casino industry. Maybe the move was planned months ago, but the timing, right after California decided to ban sweepstakes casinos, makes that hard to believe.

California is one of the most valuable markets in the country, and its upcoming ban is expected to take a big bite out of the industry’s overall revenue. Seen in that light, Baba Casino’s decision looks like a smart way to make up for the loss.

By cutting its restricted list from 23 states down to 17, the company is opening its doors to more players just as it prepares to lose a huge market.
