Paysafe Becomes Latest Heavyweight to Join Social Gaming Leadership Alliance
Paysafe is now part of SGLA, bolstering the trade group’s credibility in safer payments

As US states tighten the grip on sweepstakes casino bans, its leading advocacy group is busy laying the groundwork. Social Gaming Leadership Alliance (SGLA), a vocal lobby group for the sweeps industry, has welcomed a new member: Paysafe.
This latest development was announced in January 2026, further boosting SGLA’s street cred as the leading voice in sweepstakes casinos’ responsible regulation. Paysafe is the second fintech and payments company to join the group, after Canadian firm Nuvei.
What’s Paysafe, and Why Its Membership Matters?

Paysafe is a leading global payments platform that’s widely popular among gaming companies. Two of its e-wallets, Skrill and Neteller, are trusted payment options in many offshore-licensed casinos and sportsbooks. In 2024, the company processed $152 billion in annualized transaction volume across 24 payment types in over 40 currencies.
Although Paysafe’s payment platforms work for all industries, it flexes expertise on iGaming and social gaming. The company partners with some of the top iGaming operators, including Betfair, bet365, and PokerStars.
Paysafe’s entry into SGLA isn’t just for numbers; it also adds voice and authority to the trade group’s campaign:
-
Adds an expert payment voice to policy advocacy. Paysafe isn’t a regular payments provider; it’s a major player in the e-wallet space. With the company’s expertise, SGLA can now speak authoritatively on compliant payment systems, anti-fraud initiatives, and safer data handling.
-
Boosts SGLA’s legitimacy. SGLA was an active stakeholder in 2025, and with Paysafe’s entry, we expect it to become more engaged and passionate in debates and policy-making. The trade group’s push for ‘sensible frameworks’ has become more substantial.
Paysafe and SGLA: A Unified Voice Moving Forward

According to Sean Ostrow, SGLA’s Managing Director, “the company’s technical capabilities, industry perspective and significant U.S. footprint will meaningfully support our work with policymakers and stakeholders”.
Paysafe also shared its confidence in its latest decision. According to Zac Cutler, “Paysafe is proud to join the Social Gaming Leadership Alliance and support its work promoting safe, responsible and innovative Social Plus games”.
With Paysafe’s entry, SGLA’s list of members now includes VGW’s Chumba Casino and LuckyLand, PlayStudios, Yellow Social Interactive, ARB Interactive, B-Two Operations, and Nuvei.
