Stake.us Will Shut Down in California on Dec. 30

Stake.us has confirmed it will shut down all operations in California on December 30, 2025 — two days before AB831 officially takes effect. This is a total shutdown of the platform, not just Sweeps Coins.

Last Day to Play

Californians can still log in and use the platform until December 30. After that, Stake.us will switch to redeem-only mode for users in the state.

Why Gold Coins Are Being Removed Too

Some sweepstakes platforms plan to keep Gold Coin (GC) play active post-AB831, since GCs do not carry monetary value or prizes. Stake.us is taking a more conservative route.

Unlike Modo Casino or WOW Vegas, Stake.us is ending both SC and GC services. The platform was recently named in a lawsuit by California’s consumer protection regulator — a likely factor in the decision to go dark across the board.
